How University of North Florida calculates GPA
University of North Florida calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The North Florida grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the North Florida scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.
Failing grade: University of North Florida uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
Without grade forgiveness, both the original and repeat grade count in GPA; with grade forgiveness (limited to two uses per undergraduate career), the forgiven grade is excluded from GPA.

Dean’s List
University of North Florida names students to its Dean’s List at a term GPA of 3.5 with 9 credit hours in a term (plus at least 15 credit hours earned in residence at UNF).
Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation: total institutional GPA below 2.0.
Dismissal: GPA remains below 2.0 at end of a term while already on probation -> eligible for academic suspension.

UNF's grading scale skips C-, D+ and D- entirely, using only a single D (1.0) as the lowest passing grade above F.
