What is the OMSAS GPA?
The OMSAS GPA is a standardized 4.0-scale grade point average calculated by the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) for applications to Ontario medical schools (OMSAS), and by its sister services for dentistry (do not confuse with ORPAS for rehabilitation sciences and law). No matter which university you attended, OMSAS re-converts every course grade using one official table — so your OMSAS GPA can differ from your home-university GPA.
How it's calculated
Each course percentage is converted to a 4.0 value using the official table below, then weighted by the course's credit/weight and averaged. Enter your courses above (percentage + credit weight) for your credit-weighted OMSAS GPA. Full-year courses usually carry more weight than half courses — use your transcript's credit values.

OMSAS GPA vs. your school GPA
Because OMSAS uses fixed percentage bands, a course that was an "A" at your university can land at 3.7 or 3.9 depending on the exact mark — and OMSAS counts all attempts, with no grade forgiveness.
