How Savannah College of Art and Design calculates GPA
Savannah College of Art and Design calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The SCAD grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the SCAD scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.
Failing grade: Savannah College of Art and Design uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
When a course is retaken, only the highest grade counts toward cumulative/major GPA; all attempts remain visible on the transcript.

Good to know
SCAD grades undergraduates on a straight A/B/C/D/F scale with no plus or minus grades and no A+.
Every figure here was read from SCAD’s own registrar or catalog. Where a rule is set by an individual college rather than the institution, the page says so instead of presenting one college’s number as everyone’s.
