How University of Wisconsin-Whitewater calculates GPA
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The UW-Whitewater grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the UW-Whitewater scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there is a D- at 0.67.
Failing grade: University of Wisconsin-Whitewater uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
A course in which a grade of C- or below (including F or NC) was originally earned may be repeated once, with the new grade replacing the original for GPA purposes; higher grades are not eligible for repeat/replacement.

Good to know
Sibling campuses in the same system are not a guide here. Every figure on this page was read from UW-Whitewater’s own registrar or catalog, because the campuses of this system genuinely differ — in the grading scale, in what counts when a course is repeated, and in where the honors cut-offs sit.
