Biju Patnaik University of Technology follows a seven-point grading system on a base of 10 and, per its academic regulations, does NOT award marks or a class/division to a student at the semester or degree level. Its official Notice No. BPUT/1717 (16-05-2012) gives the conversion as Equivalent Percentage of Marks = (CGPA − 0.50) × 10 (CGPA 8.0 → 75%), to be used at the discretion of the concerned organisation or individual. This is the same −0.5 offset family as JNTU Hyderabad; note it is NOT a plain ×10 — using ×10 overstates the percentage by 5 points. The figure is an external equivalence aid, not a class determinant.
