How CGPA is calculated at Dibrugarh University
Your CGPA is a credit-weighted average of your grade points across all semesters. In short:
- Take your CGPA on Dibrugarh's 10-point scale.
- If your CGPA is 5.5 or higher: percentage = (CGPA × 10) + 5, capped at 100.
- If your CGPA is between 4.5 and 5.5: percentage = CGPA × 10.
- Example: a CGPA of 7.0 gives (7.0 × 10) + 5 = 75%.
- Reverse (for % ≥ 60): CGPA = (percentage − 5) ÷ 10. For 45–55%: CGPA = percentage ÷ 10.
- Applies to PG CBCS programmes (2009–2020); minimum PG pass CGPA is 4.5.
Worked example. Applying % = (CGPA × 10) + 5 if CGPA ≥ 5.5; % = CGPA × 10 if 4.5 ≤ CGPA < 5.5, a CGPA of 7.0 converts to 75%.
