Source & verification
INHERITED from Gauhati University (registry key gauhati): Gauhati University Regulations for the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP), 2023 [Amended up to 2026], clause 16.3(c): 'CGPA will be multiplied by 10. Percentage of marks = (CGPA×10)'; clause 1: applicable to all students of colleges/institutions affiliated by Gauhati University admitted to FYUGP. Earlier CBCS batches: Gauhati University Academic Notification 25 (21-05-2018) — percentage = CGPA × 10 for all subjects, batches passing out from 2008 onwards.
NEWLY AUTONOMOUS: GCC's own homepage now reads 'Welcome to Gauhati Commerce College (Autonomous)'; news reports (Sentinel, Assam Tribune, April 2026) say UGC conferred autonomy for 2026-27 to 2030-31 (UGC letter 9 April 2026, GU notification 18 April 2026). The UGC/GU conferment letter itself was not found on gcc.ac.in. All batches admitted up to 2025-26 remain under Gauhati University (a GU notification of 25-11-2025 on GCC's site covers 1st-semester FYUGP registration for the 2025 batch), so the GU rule CGPA x 10 governs them. For the first autonomous batch (2026-27), GCC has not published its own conversion rule; tell those students to check their grade card. GU Academic Notification 25 (2018) now returns 404 and could not be re-verified; the FYUGP regulation clause 16.3(c) was read directly.
