How International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) converts CGPA to percentage

No CGPA to percentage conversion from International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) (Pakistan (Islamabad)) itself has been confirmed. The calculator above uses % = minimum of the HEC band for your CGPA (e.g. 3.00 → 71%) — HEC recommended equivalence table as an estimate for a 4-point CGPA — why, and what to use for an official figure, is set out below.

Worked example

Take a CGPA of 3 on the 4-point scale. Applying the estimate % = minimum of the HEC band for your CGPA (e.g. 3.00 → 71%) — HEC recommended equivalence table gives a percentage of about 71%. Change the CGPA in the calculator above and the percentage updates instantly using this same formula.

Why the formula matters

International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) publishes no CGPA to percentage conversion. % = minimum of the HEC band for your CGPA (e.g. 3.00 → 71%) — HEC recommended equivalence table is what comparable institutions on the same 4-point scale use, so it is shown here as an estimate. Ask the examination office for an official figure before quoting one in an application.

Source & verification

Higher Education Commission (HEC), Policy Guidelines for Implementation of Uniform Semester System, section 13.1: 'the following equivalence of GPA/CGPA and percentage is recommended for adoption' — A 3.67–4.00 = 85 and above; A− 3.34–3.66 = 80–84; B+ 3.01–3.33 = 75–79; B 2.67–3.00 = 71–74; B− 2.34–2.66 = 68–70; C+ 2.01–2.33 = 64–67; C 1.67–2.00 = 61–63; C− 1.31–1.66 = 58–60; D+ 1.01–1.30 = 54–57; D 0.10–1.00 = 50–53; F 0.00 = below 50. 'A student getting any CGPA ... will be given the minimum of the corresponding percentage ... if a student gets a CGPA of 3.00, the percentage associated will be 71%.' IIUI's own Academic Regulations for Undergraduate Studies (Spring 2024) publish only a marks-to-grade-point table (80% and above = A 4.00; 75–79% = B+ 3.50; 70–74% = B 3.00 …), not a CGPA-to-percentage rule, so HEC's recommended table is shown as an estimate.

ESTIMATE, NOT IIUI'S OWN RULE. The earlier 'CGPA × 25 (HEC standard)' figure had no official source and is replaced: neither HEC nor IIUI publishes × 25, and IIUI's own grade bands put a 3.00 at 70–74% (× 25 gave 75%). Ask IIUI's examinations office for an official percentage before using one in an application.
