MDU uses different conversions by ordinance/stream. General CBCS Ordinance (EC Reso. 28 of 29-03-2019, students from 2019-20): Conversion of SGPA/CGPA into percentage = ten (10) times the SGPA/CGPA (CGPA 8.5 → 85%), shown on the DMC overleaf — this calculator uses this ×10 rule. However, the newer B.Tech Ordinance as per NEP-2020 (w.e.f. session 2025-26) specifies % of Marks = CGPA × 9.5 (CGPA 8.5 → 80.75%) — B.Tech NEP-2020 students should use ×9.5 instead. For the four transitional CBCS batches (2015-17 to 2018-20) the division was decided by the better of marks or grade point.
