Saurashtra University — Academic Section, 'Semester Grade Point Average Table' (Circular No. Academic/504/2016; posted 11-05-2019): 'Equivalent percentage Percentage based on SGPA: Equivalent percentage = SGPA * 10'; 'Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): CGPA = {SGPA (Semester I) + SGPA (Semester II) + SGPA (Semester III) + SGPA (Semester IV)} / No. of semester'; 'Equivalent percentage: = CGPA * 10'. Grade points are interpolated within bands (e.g. 70–84.99 marks → 7.0–8.49; worked example 47 marks → 4.7).
EXPLICIT official rule. The circular is a 6-page scan read as page images. Its grade table interpolates linearly (85–100 → 8.5–10; 70–84.99 → 7.0–8.49; 60–69.99 → 6.0–6.99; 55–59.99 → 5.5–5.99; 48–54.99 → 4.8–5.49; 40–47.99 → 4.0–4.79; below 40 → Dropped), so × 10 recovers the marks percentage. Classes: 8.5+ First with Distinction (O+); 7–8.5 O; 6–7 First; 5.5–6 Higher Second; 4.8–5.5 Second; 4–4.8 Pass; < 4 Fail. SCOPE: CBCS programmes under Circular Academic/504/2016. The CGPA formula in the circular is a simple average of semester SGPAs over four semesters. NEP-2020 programmes (2023 onwards) are not covered: their grading document was not found. This entry replaces the earlier 'pending' record (pendingB3, 2026-09-24), which had missed this circular.
