Converting Birsa Munda Tribal University (BMTU), Rajpipla percentage back to CGPA

Birsa Munda Tribal University (BMTU), Rajpipla (Gujarat) officially converts CGPA to percentage with % = CGPA × 10 (pre-NEP UG marksheets only — BMTU set CGPA = % ÷ 10); NOT valid for NEP 2024+ grades. This page inverts that formula so you can estimate the CGPA behind a known percentage. Enter your percentage above and the calculator solves for the CGPA on the 10-point scale.

Worked example

The official Birsa Munda Tribal University (BMTU), Rajpipla formula is % = CGPA × 10 (pre-NEP UG marksheets only — BMTU set CGPA = % ÷ 10); NOT valid for NEP 2024+ grades. Starting from a percentage of 65%, the formula reverses to a CGPA of about 6.5 on the 10-point scale. You can check this by running 6.5 through the forward Birsa Munda Tribal University (BMTU), Rajpipla CGPA to percentage calculator — it returns 65%, confirming the two directions agree.

Why this is an estimate, not an official figure

A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.

Birsa Munda Tribal University — Registrar's Notification (dated 01-10-2021; sent to all university registrars of Gujarat), 'Table for conversation of Percentage into CGPA', issued for the School of Arts, Commerce and Science July-2021 examinations (result 15-09-2021): 'Conversion of Percentage into CGPA: Obtained Percentage ÷ 10 = CGPA (65% ÷ 10 = 6.5 CGPA)'.

SCOPE — PRE-NEP ONLY: BMTU's older marksheets report a CGPA that is simply the percentage ÷ 10, so × 10 recovers the percentage exactly. The notice is a one-page scan, read by OCR. OCR renders '÷' as '+', but the worked example (65% → 6.5) makes it unambiguous. NEP 2020 PROGRAMMES (curriculum & credit framework ordinances effective June 2024, amended Jan 2025): grading is relative, with a banded grade table (O 10 = 96–100; A+ 9 = 86–95.9; A 8 = 76–85.9; …). The ordinance says 'BMTU may also mention the marks obtained … and a weightage average of marks on the Grade sheet'. For NEP students there is NO CGPA→% formula: use the weighted average of marks if it is printed, not CGPA × 10. PIN taken from the University's letterhead (Rajpipla 393145).
