Converting Majuli University of Culture (MUC), Majuli percentage back to CGPA

Majuli University of Culture (MUC), Majuli (Assam) officially converts CGPA to percentage with % = CGPA × 10 (PG, 2023-24 onwards). This page inverts that formula so you can estimate the CGPA behind a known percentage. Enter your percentage above and the calculator solves for the CGPA on the 10-point scale.

Worked example

The official Majuli University of Culture (MUC), Majuli formula is % = CGPA × 10 (PG, 2023-24 onwards). Starting from a percentage of 80%, the formula reverses to a CGPA of about 8 on the 10-point scale. You can check this by running 8 through the forward Majuli University of Culture (MUC), Majuli CGPA to percentage calculator — it returns 80%, confirming the two directions agree.

Why this is an estimate, not an official figure

A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.

Source & verification

Majuli University of Culture — Revised Regulations for Conduct of the Post Graduate Academic Programmes in the Choice Based Credit System, 2023, Notification No. MUC/RG/AC/22-23/11 dated 31.07.2023 (effective from session 2023-24), cl. 10.14: 'Ordinarily, the CGPA earned by a student may be converted to percentage of Marks … CGPA X 10 = Percentage of Marks'. Separate notification MUC/RG/AC/22-23/17 for the PG 2020-21 batch only: (CGPA × 10) + 5 for CGPA ≥ 5.5 (max 100); CGPA × 10 for 4.5 ≤ CGPA < 5.5.

For PG students admitted from 2023-24, the rule is CGPA × 10 (cl. 10.14, introduced by 'Ordinarily'). The 10-point grade table in cl. 10.4 maps bands such as O = 10 (above 90-100%), A+ = 9 (80-90%) and C = 5 (45-55%); these are per-course bands. The 2020-21 PG batch has a special formula, (CGPA×10)+5 capped at 100 for CGPA ≥ 5.5; the notification says it applies to 'Academic Session 2020-2021', and it gives no rule for CGPA below 4.5. Whether 2020-21 means the admission session or the passing session is not stated. The 2023 notice calls this a modification of 'existing Regulations', so the pre-2023 base rule was presumably different, but that document was not found. No conversion was found for the UG/FYIMP programmes.
