Forward formula: % = CGPA × 10Source: NIT Uttarakhand — Course Book (April 2023), Ordinances, Rules and Regulations, Section 2.10.2 'Conversion Formula from CGPA to Percentage': 'Percentage (%) = 10 × CGPA. The CGPA of 6.75 will be the minimum requirement for the award of First Division.' (Same wording in the UG-PG Ordinance 2019, applicable 2018 onwards.)Status: verifiedLast verified: 2026-09-24
This reverses the official CGPA→% formula. A percentage on a transcript is the authoritative figure; the back-calculated CGPA is an estimate. Always confirm with your college.

Converting National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand (NIT Uttarakhand) percentage back to CGPA

National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand (NIT Uttarakhand) (Uttarakhand) officially converts CGPA to percentage with % = CGPA × 10. This page inverts that formula so you can estimate the CGPA behind a known percentage. Enter your percentage above and the calculator solves for the CGPA on the 10-point scale.

Worked example

The official National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand (NIT Uttarakhand) formula is % = CGPA × 10. Starting from a percentage of 80%, the formula reverses to a CGPA of about 8 on the 10-point scale. You can check this by running 8 through the forward National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand (NIT Uttarakhand) CGPA to percentage calculator — it returns 80%, confirming the two directions agree.

Why this is an estimate, not an official figure

A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.

NIT Uttarakhand — Course Book (April 2023), Ordinances, Rules and Regulations, Section 2.10.2 'Conversion Formula from CGPA to Percentage': 'Percentage (%) = 10 × CGPA. Current rule is CGPA × 10 (2018 onwards, UG and PG). HISTORY: an early Senate agenda (2nd Senate, c. 2013) had a non-linear formula, % = 0.60 × CGPA² + 0.81 × CGPA + 27.20, which the 2019 and 2023 ordinances replaced; the cut-off batch for the old formula is not stated. First Division needs a minimum CGPA of 6.75.
