IMPORTANT — TWO QUIRKS IN SPPU'S OFFICIAL TABLE, reproduced here exactly as published rather than smoothed. First, a CGPA between 8.25 and 8.32 converts to a LOWER percentage than a CGPA of 8.24: 8.24 gives 74.90% while 8.25 gives 74.00%, recovering at 8.33 (74.96%). A practical consequence is that reaching 75% requires a CGPA of 8.34, not 8.25 as a straight-line conversion would suggest. Second, in the other direction, crossing into the O band jumps: CGPA 9.49 gives 88.88% but 9.50 gives 90.00%. Both effects come from SPPU using a separate formula per grade band with no continuity at the joins. WHO THIS COVERS: undergraduate degrees only — the circular is titled “for UG Degree of All Faculties”, so it does NOT apply to M.E. or other postgraduate CGPAs, for which SPPU has no published conversion. Students admitted before roughly AY 2015-16 predate SPPU's CBCS credit system and have a percentage printed directly on their marksheet, so no conversion is needed for them. SPPU separately directs CGPA × 8.80 for government recruitment (MPSC/UPSC) purposes only — do not use this table for that.
