Saraswati College of Engineering is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and received UGC autonomous status with effect from 2020-21 (UGC Status List as on 27.08.2024, entry #581; valid to 2029-30). However, a student review from the batch of 2025 states: "The institute is now autonomous from 2025." This mirrors the CRCE pattern where the UGC grant was 2022-23 but implementation began 2024-25 — colleges sometimes delay operationalising a UGC grant. The actual cohort boundary may be 2025-26 rather than 2020-21. Without the SCOE examination regulations the implementation year cannot be confirmed.
