Managed by the Karnataka Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) since 1937. NAAC 'A++' grade (4th cycle). Class-award thresholds tightened with university status: First Class with Distinction now requires CGPA >=8.0 (was >=7.5 as a college); First Class now requires CGPA >=6.5 (was >=6.0).
