Converting University of Management & Technology (UMT), Lahore percentage back to CGPA
No CGPA to percentage conversion from University of Management & Technology (UMT), Lahore (Pakistan (Punjab)) itself has been confirmed. This page reverses the estimate % = minimum of the HEC band for your CGPA (e.g. 3.00 → 71%) — HEC recommended equivalence table, so the CGPA it shows is doubly approximate; quote the CGPA on your transcript.
Worked example
University of Management & Technology (UMT), Lahore converts by band: % = minimum of the HEC band for your CGPA (e.g. 3.00 → 71%) — HEC recommended equivalence table. A percentage of 71% covers a whole band of CGPAs, so it cannot be reversed to one number. The calculator shows the lowest CGPA that gives 71%, which is 2.67; a CGPA of 3 gives the same 71% in the forward University of Management & Technology (UMT), Lahore CGPA to percentage calculator. Quote the CGPA on your transcript rather than a back-calculated one.
Why this is an estimate, not an official figure
A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.

Higher Education Commission (HEC), Policy Guidelines for Implementation of Uniform Semester System, section 13.1: 'the following equivalence of GPA/CGPA and percentage is recommended for adoption' — A 3.67–4.00 = 85 and above; A− 3.34–3.66 = 80–84; B+ 3.01–3.33 = 75–79; B 2.67–3.00 = 71–74; B− 2.34–2.66 = 68–70; C+ 2.01–2.33 = 64–67; C 1.67–2.00 = 61–63; C− 1.31–1.66 = 58–60; D+ 1.01–1.30 = 54–57; D 0.10–1.00 = 50–53; F 0.00 = below 50. 'A student getting any CGPA ... will be given the minimum of the corresponding percentage ... if a student gets a CGPA of 3.00, the percentage associated will be 71%.' UMT's own Undergraduate Handbook 2025-26 lists letter grades and grade points only.
ESTIMATE, NOT UMT'S OWN RULE. UMT's Office of the Controller of Examinations also links, on its 'HEC Guidelines' page, an unsigned 'CGPA to Percentage Conversion Formula' (30-11-2018) that gives different, higher figures than HEC's table — the two documents UMT links disagree, so confirm the percentage with UMT's examinations office. The earlier 'CGPA × 25 (HEC standard)' figure had no official source and is replaced.
