Zeal College of Engineering and Research, Narhe is an autonomous institute affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, autonomous from A.Y. 2024-25 (UGC Status List of 1222 Autonomous Colleges as on 27.08.2024, entry #512; valid to 2033-34). It does NOT publish a CGPA-to-percentage formula. Section 9(c) of its own ordinance states that semester grade cards do not show class, division or rank, but that "a conversion from grade point index to percentage based on CGPA shall be indicated on the FINAL grade card of the program" — so a conversion exists, is issued only on the final grade card at the end of the degree, and appears nowhere in the ordinance. CHECK YOUR FINAL GRADE CARD. Absolute grading on a 10-point scale (section 3.5, Table 3.2, applicable from A.Y. 2024-25): O 90-100 (10), A+ 80-89 (9), A 70-79 (8), B+ 60-69 (7), B 50-59 (6), C 40-49 (5), F below 40 (0). Because grading is absolute, your grade card already tells you your marks band — a grade of A means 70-79%. Class bands (Table 9.1): CGPA 7.75 or above First Class with Distinction; 6.75 to below 7.75 First Class; 6.25 to below 6.75 Higher Second Class; 5.5 to below 6.25 Second Class; 5.0 to below 5.5 Pass Class. Assessment per theory course is CIE 1 of 20 marks (units 1-2) plus CIE 2 of 20 marks (continuous, all units) plus End Term Examination of 60 marks — note the ETE covers ONLY units 3 to 6, not the full syllabus. Passing needs 40% in the ETE and 40% overall. A B.Tech with Multidisciplinary Minor requires 176 credits and CGPA at least 5.0. Re-examination carries a one-grade penalty and is capped at A+. Students admitted up to A.Y. 2023-24 sat SPPU examinations and fall under SPPU Circular 332/2020 instead.
