How Belmont University calculates GPA
Belmont University calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The Belmont grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the Belmont scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and the scale runs down to D- at 0.7.
Failing grade: Belmont University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
A repeated course may generally be taken only once more (except F, repeatable until passed); the last grade earned is posted and counted in the GPA unless it is lower than the first, in which case the original grade stands in the GPA (it still appears on the transcript either way).

Dean’s List
Belmont University names students to its Dean’s List at a term GPA of 3.5 with 12 semester credit hours (9 hours over 10 weeks for Summer Dean's List).
Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation / suspension: semester or cumulative Belmont GPA below 2.0.
The minimum cumulative GPA depends on how far through the degree a student is:
