How California Baptist University calculates GPA
California Baptist University calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The California Baptist grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the California Baptist scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and the scale runs down to D- at 0.7.
Failing grade: California Baptist University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
A course may only be repeated once for grade replacement; the second (most recent) grade counts in the GPA regardless of which grade is higher.
Academic standing
Cumulative GPA below 2.0 or semester GPA below 1.7
Latin honors at graduation

Academic probation and dismissal

Dismissal: Suspension follows continued failure to meet the 2.0 cumulative / 1.7 semester GPA thresholds.

Good to know
As a private university, CBU awards baccalaureate Latin honors but its current catalog has no distinct Dean's List section (only Latin honors and an Honors Program are documented).
Every figure here was read from California Baptist’s own registrar or catalog. Where a rule is set by an individual college rather than the institution, the page says so instead of presenting one college’s number as everyone’s.
