Central Washington University calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The Central Washington grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the Central Washington scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and the scale runs down to D- at 0.7.
Failing grade: Central Washington University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
When a course is repeated, only the last (most recent) grade earned is used in computing the cumulative and major GPA; all grades remain on the record.
Academic standing

Dean’s List
Central Washington University names students to its Dean’s List at a term GPA of 3.5 with minimum of 10 A-F graded college-level credits.
Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation / academic suspension: quarterly GPA below 2.0 for two consecutive quarters with overall GPA below 2.0.
Dismissal: suspension if GPA remains below 2.0 while on probation.
