How Eastern Michigan University calculates GPA
Eastern Michigan University calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The Eastern Michigan grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the Eastern Michigan scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and the scale runs down to D- at 0.7.
Failing grade: Eastern Michigan University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
Repeated courses are coded 'E' to exclude the earlier grade from term and cumulative GPA, or 'I' to include it; only the credited attempt normally counts toward GPA.

Good to know
Every figure here was read from Eastern Michigan’s own registrar or catalog. Where a rule is set by an individual college rather than the institution, the page says so instead of presenting one college’s number as everyone’s.
