How Franklin University calculates GPA
Franklin University calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The Franklin grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the Franklin scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.
Failing grade: Franklin University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
Students who previously earned D or F may retake the identical course; the earlier grade becomes DR or FR and is not counted in the GPA, the retake grade counts, and credit is given only once. No AX/BX/CX rule stated here.

Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation: cumulative GPA below 2.00.
Dismissal: Suspension (cancellation of enrollment for one term) when the cumulative GPA falls below the minimum for the credit hours attempted; dismissal usually follows suspension, reinstatement and continued failure to progress..
The minimum cumulative GPA depends on how far through the degree a student is:

Franklin runs on trimesters and sets its suspension GPA on a sliding scale by credit hours attempted, from 1.10 at 20-29 hours up to 2.00 at 100 or more.
