How Indiana University of Pennsylvania calculates GPA
Indiana University of Pennsylvania calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The IUP grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the IUP scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.
Failing grade: Indiana University of Pennsylvania uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
The most recent grade is the one used in the GPA, higher or lower; all attempts stay on the transcript. Undergraduates are limited to six repeat-with-replacement attempts overall and two repeats of any single course.

Cumulative GPA below 2.00 (2.00 or above is Academic Good Standing)

Dean’s List
Indiana University of Pennsylvania names students to its Dean’s List at a term GPA of 3.25 with at least 12 credits of graded (not P/F) undergraduate course work.
University-wide; awarded each semester or cumulatively for the summer session
Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation / dismissal: Cumulative GPA below 2.00 (2.00 or above is Academic Good Standing).
Dismissal: Still below 2.00 CGPA after a semester of extended probation; also a 0.00 CGPA at the end of the first semester of enrollment.

Good to know
Both the Dean's List and cum laude start at 3.25, noticeably lower than the 3.50 used by most universities.
