How University of Louisiana at Lafayette calculates GPA
University of Louisiana at Lafayette calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The Louisiana Lafayette grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the Louisiana Lafayette scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.
Failing grade: University of Louisiana at Lafayette uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
When a course is repeated, only the final attempt counts toward degree requirements; all attempts remain on the transcript and are computed into the standard cumulative GPA. However, a separate 'adjusted' GPA (used for graduation) removes all but the most recent attempt.

Good to know
UL Lafayette's standard undergraduate grading scale uses only whole letter grades (A, B, C, D, F) with no plus/minus modifiers, so GPA calculations here differ from schools using +/- grading.
Every figure here was read from Louisiana Lafayette’s own registrar or catalog. Where a rule is set by an individual college rather than the institution, the page says so instead of presenting one college’s number as everyone’s.
