A+ rule: On the Louisiana Tech scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.

Failing grade: Louisiana Tech University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).

Repeated courses & grade replacement

All attempts at a repeated course are computed into the cumulative GPA - the grade is averaged, not replaced. Only the hours earned come from the last attempt.

Academic probation / subject to suspension: cumulative GPA below 2.0.

Dismissal: suspended at the end of any quarter (while on probation) in which the student fails to earn a quarterly GPA of at least 2.0 (first-time freshmen protected for their first three quarters).
