How McNeese State University calculates GPA
McNeese State University calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The McNeese State grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the McNeese State scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.
Failing grade: McNeese State University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
All attempts count in the term and overall GPA and the highest grade is the official grade. Only the separate grade-forgiveness policy (a maximum of three requests in an undergraduate career, for courses graded D or F) removes a prior attempt from the GPA.

Dean’s List
McNeese State University names students to its Dean’s List at a term GPA of 3.0 with at least 12 credit hours that generate quality points.
McNeese has no Dean's List; this is the Honor Roll. The President's Honor List requires a 3.5 term GPA and at least 15 credit hours.
Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation: overall GPA below 2.0.
Dismissal: Suspension when a student on probation earns a term GPA below 2.0 — one semester for the first suspension, one calendar year for a second or subsequent one.

Good to know
Every attempt of a repeated course stays in the GPA unless the student spends one of only three lifetime grade-forgiveness requests, and honors at graduation are judged on the full record including forgiven grades.
Every figure here was read from McNeese State’s own registrar or catalog. Where a rule is set by an individual college rather than the institution, the page says so instead of presenting one college’s number as everyone’s.
