How Mercy University calculates GPA

Mercy University calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.

The Mercy grade scale — what makes it specific

A+ rule: On the Mercy scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.

Failing grade: Mercy University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).

Good to know

Under the Freshman Forgiveness Policy an approved grade is replaced on the transcript by a 'ZC' (zero credit) designation that does not affect the GPA.

Every figure here was read from Mercy’s own registrar or catalog. Where a rule is set by an individual college rather than the institution, the page says so instead of presenting one college’s number as everyone’s.
