How Michigan Technological University calculates GPA

A+ rule: On the Michigan Tech scale, the scale uses half-step letters rather than pluses and minuses, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.
Failing grade: Michigan Technological University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).

Dean’s List
Michigan Technological University names students to its Dean’s List at a term GPA of 3.50 with 12 or more grade-point credits in the semester.
Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation: University cumulative GPA below 2.00, most recent semester GPA below 2.00, or cumulative departmental GPA below 2.00 based on at least 16 credits.
Dismissal: Suspension follows if the cumulative GPA remains below 2.0 after one semester of probation, if good standing is not reached after two semesters of probation, or if the term GPA is 0.0 with 12 or more credits attempted.

Michigan Tech uses half-step combination letters (AB 3.50, BC 2.50, CD 1.50) instead of plus/minus grades, so there is no A+, no minus grade and no D-.
