The Northeastern grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: Northeastern uses a 4.000 plus/minus scale with NO A+ — the top grade is A = 4.000. Values run A- = 3.667, B+ = 3.333, down to D- = 0.667, F = 0.000.
Failing grade: Northeastern University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
In limited cases approved by the academic unit, a course may be substituted or repeated. Confirm specifics with the registrar.
Academic standing
Northeastern reports GPA to three decimals (e.g. A- = 3.667). Co-op terms don't carry letter grades.
Good to know
Northeastern uses a 4.000 scale with three-decimal grade points (A- = 3.667, B+ = 3.333, etc.) and, per its official grade table, NO A+ — the maximum is a plain A = 4.000. Generic calculators that add an A+ row or use 3.7/3.3 rounding will be slightly off for Northeastern.
