How Northern Kentucky University calculates GPA
Northern Kentucky University calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The Northern Kentucky grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the Northern Kentucky scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there is no D-.
Failing grade: Northern Kentucky University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
When a course is retaken, the better of the two grades counts toward GPA; the original attempt is removed from earned-hour, quality-point, and GPA calculations (though it remains in attempted hours). Limited to six different repeated courses, and no single course more than three attempts.
Academic standing
cumulative GPA drops below 2.00 (Academic Warning); remains on Probation until cumulative GPA reaches 2.00

Dean’s List
Northern Kentucky University names students to its Dean’s List at a term GPA of 3.600-3.999 with at least eight semester hours at the 100 level and above.

Academic probation and dismissal
Academic Warning / Academic Probation / Academic Suspension: cumulative GPA drops below 2.00 (Academic Warning); remains on Probation until cumulative GPA reaches 2.00.
Dismissal: on Probation, fails to achieve a 2.00 cumulative GPA or a 2.00 GPA in the current semester.

Good to know
A repeated course's original grade is dropped entirely from GPA and quality-point calculations (not averaged with the new one), but a student may repeat at most six different courses and no single course more than three times.
