How Pace University calculates GPA
Pace University calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The Pace grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the Pace scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there is no D-.
Failing grade: Pace University uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Academic standing
cumulative QPA below 2.0 (university minimum; some colleges/schools/programs set higher requirements)
Latin honors at graduation
| Honor | Requirement |
|---|---|
| cum laude | 3.50-3.64 |
| magna cum laude | 3.65-3.84 |
| summa cum laude | 3.85-4.00 |
Dean’s List
Pace University names students to its Dean’s List at a term GPA of 3.50 with 9 credits, excluding grades of P.
Three tiers: Third Honors 3.50-3.64, Second Honors 3.65-3.84, First Honors 3.85-4.00; a D or F in the term disqualifies a student.
Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation: cumulative QPA below 2.0 (university minimum; some colleges/schools/programs set higher requirements).
Dismissal: continuing/serious deficiency after one probation semester; dismissed students barred from registering university-wide for at least one year.

Good to know
Pace's Dean's List is a three-tier system (Third/Second/First Honors at 3.50/3.65/3.85) rather than one cutoff, and course retakes only replace the grade for the most recent attempt, not after the degree is conferred.
Every figure here was read from Pace’s own registrar or catalog. Where a rule is set by an individual college rather than the institution, the page says so instead of presenting one college’s number as everyone’s.
