The RIT grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the RIT scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there are no plus or minus grades at all.
Failing grade: Rochester Institute of Technology uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
For undergraduates, a repeated course's last grade replaces the earlier one for GPA purposes.

Dean’s List
Rochester Institute of Technology names students to its Dean’s List at a term GPA of 3.40 with 12 credit hours in the term (or at least 9 credit hours during the academic year for students carrying under 12 credits per term); no D, F, or Incomplete grades.
Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation: cumulative or term GPA below 2.00.
Dismissal: term GPA below 1.00 (automatic suspension, bypassing probation); or a third instance requiring probation after two prior probations.
