How Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute calculates GPA

The RPI grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the RPI scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there is no D-.
Failing grade: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
Undergraduates may repeat a course up to two times (three attempts total). All grades stay on the transcript, but only the most recent grade counts in the GPA, and credit counts once.
