The UW Bothell grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: UW Bothell does not grade in letters at all. Instructors report a number from 4.0 down to 0.7 in steps of 0.1, plus 0.0; grades between 0.6 and 0.1 may not be assigned and convert to 0.0. The letters on its published table are ranges, not values — an A is anything from 3.9 to 4.0.
Failing grade: University of Washington-Bothell Campus records a failing grade as 0.0; 0.7 is the lowest passing grade.
Repeated courses & grade replacement
With departmental approval an undergraduate may repeat a course once; both the original and the second grade count in the GPA, credit allowed only once. Third and subsequent attempts are excluded from the GPA. All attempts count — a retake does not replace the original.
Academic standing
Cumulative GPA below 2.00 at the end of any quarter places an undergraduate on academic warning; in the student's first quarter the same shortfall issues an academic alert instead.
