How University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire calculates GPA
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire calculates GPA as a credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s grade points by its credits, add them up, and divide by total credits. The detail that matters is the grade scale.
The UW-Eau Claire grade scale — what makes it specific
A+ rule: On the UW-Eau Claire scale, there is no A+ — A = 4.0 is the top grade, and there is a D- at 0.67.
Failing grade: University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire uses "F" for a failing grade (0.0).
Repeated courses & grade replacement
A course in which a grade of C- or below (or W) was originally earned may be repeated once, with the new grade replacing the previous grade in GPA calculations (both grades remain on the transcript).

after one Academic Concern the student is still not in good standing at the end of a subsequent semester, or a semester GPA below 1.00 sends the student straight to probation

Academic probation and dismissal
Academic probation: after one Academic Concern the student is still not in good standing at the end of a subsequent semester, or a semester GPA below 1.00 sends the student straight to probation.
Dismissal: Academic Suspension at the end of a probation semester if good academic standing has not been regained; the page states no GPA figure for suspension.

Good to know
Sibling campuses in the same system are not a guide here. Every figure on this page was read from UW-Eau Claire’s own registrar or catalog, because the campuses of this system genuinely differ — in the grading scale, in what counts when a course is repeated, and in where the honors cut-offs sit.
