Unofficial estimate for planning only. Official applications require a WES/ECE credential evaluation; actual results vary by institution tier and course rigor.
How Brazil grades convert to US GPA
Brazil marks out of 10 (sometimes 0–100). 7.0 is commonly the pass mark; scores above 9 are uncommon.
Grade equivalents at a glance
| Brazil grade | US GPA (est.) | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 9.0–10 | ~3.7–4.0 | Excellent |
| 8.0–8.9 | ~3.3–3.7 | Very good |
| 7.0–7.9 | ~3.0 | Good / pass |
| 6.0–6.9 | ~2.3 | Below pass at many schools |
| < 6.0 | 0.0 | Fail |
Is this competitive for US admission?
A Brazilian 8.0+ is a strong average; 7.0 is a solid pass. Do not equate a 7/10 with 70% — Brazilian marking is stricter at the top. Confirm each programme.
Credential evaluation (WES / ECE)
WES converts the Brazilian 0–10 scale by band; official records (histórico escolar) are required.
For the credit-weighted multi-course version, see the WES iGPA calculator. Indian students wanting a percentage instead can use the CGPA to percentage tool.
