How CGPA is calculated at University of Calicut
Your CGPA is a credit-weighted average of your grade points across all semesters. In short:
- Each course's marks place it in a letter-grade band (O=10 for 95%+, A+=9, A=8, B+=7, B=6, C=5, P=4, F=0).
- Multiply each course's grade point by its credits to get credit points.
- Sum the credit points and divide by total credits to get the SGPA (semester) and CGPA (cumulative), to two decimals.
- Multiply the CGPA by 10 to get the approximate percentage (each grade point equals its band midpoint).
- At the very top, a grade point of 10 corresponds to the 95–100% band rather than exactly 100%.
Worked example. Applying % = CGPA × 10, a CGPA of 8.5 converts to 85%.
