About Murshidabad College of Engineering & Technology

Established 1998 through the efforts of Shri Nripen Chowdhury, then Sabhadhipati of Murshidabad Zilla Parishad; formally inaugurated 8 August 1998 by Dr. Ashim Dasgupta, then West Bengal Minister-in-Charge, Finance. Initially affiliated to Kalyani University with 120 students in 3 disciplines, later shifted to WBUT/MAKAUT. Moved to its own campus at Banjetia (formally opened 4 August 2001), ~4 km from Berhampore, Murshidabad district. Supported by the Government of West Bengal and Murshidabad Zilla Parishad. Offers B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, plus BBA and BCA. AICTE approved.
