How CGPA is calculated at Mizoram University (MZU)
Your CGPA is a credit-weighted average of your grade points across all semesters. In short:
- Compute your CGPA on Mizoram University's ten-point grading scale (credit-weighted average of grade points).
- If your CGPA is 9 or below, percentage = 10 × CGPA − 5 (e.g. CGPA 8 → 80 − 5 = 75%).
- If your CGPA is above 9, percentage = 15 × CGPA − 50 (e.g. CGPA 9.5 → 142.5 − 50 = 92.5%).
- The two parts meet at CGPA 9 (= 85%) and reach 100% at CGPA 10.
- Reverse: for percentages up to 85, CGPA = (% + 5) ÷ 10; above 85, CGPA = (% + 50) ÷ 15.
Worked example. Applying % = 10 × CGPA − 5 (for CGPA up to 9); % = 15 × CGPA − 50 (for CGPA above 9), a CGPA of 8.0 converts to 75%.
