Cl. 9.8: 'To be eligible for the award of Master Degree, students must obtain minimum final cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0.' Cl. 9.9: 'To find percent equivalent to CGPA the following formula may be used; percent = CGPA X 10.'
SCOPE — PG ONLY, 2018-19 SCHEME: the clause is in the Chancellor's uniform two-year, four-semester PG CBCS ordinance (M.A./M.Sc./M.Com., effective 2018-19). It does NOT cover (a) the 4-year UG CBCS ordinance of 2023, which has a banded grade table and no conversion clause, or (b) the 2026 uniform PG Ordinance (Governor's Secretariat No. L/ORD./04/2026-1418/GS(I), 04-07-2026), whose cl. 11 table is banded (90%+ O 10 … 45–<50 P 4) with NO formula. Students admitted under the 2026 PG ordinance should use the marks/percentage on their marksheet. The ordinance says the formula 'may be used', so it is the ordinance's stated equivalence, not a mandatory certificate rule. The copy is a scanned PDF; clause 9.9 was read by OCR and checked by eye.
