Converting Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali (IISER Mohali) percentage back to CGPA
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali (IISER Mohali) (Punjab) officially converts CGPA to percentage with % = CPI × 10 (notional). This page inverts that formula so you can estimate the CGPA behind a known percentage. Enter your percentage above and the calculator solves for the CGPA on the 10-point scale.
Worked example
The official Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali (IISER Mohali) formula is % = CPI × 10 (notional). Starting from a percentage of 85%, the formula reverses to a CGPA of about 8.5 on the 10-point scale. You can check this by running 8.5 through the forward Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali (IISER Mohali) CGPA to percentage calculator — it returns 85%, confirming the two directions agree.
Why this is an estimate, not an official figure
A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.

IISER Mohali — official CPI-to-Percentage / Medium of Instruction certificate (Dean Academic), Institute statement
IISER Mohali states it does NOT follow a formula for converting CPI to percentage; however, notionally the CPI may be multiplied by 10 to obtain the numerical percentage (CPI 8.5 → 85%). It uses relative grading with letter grades A:10, B:8, C:6, D:4, F:0, and reports a Cumulative Point Index (CPI) on a 10-point scale. As a credit-system research institute, no class/division/rank is awarded — the same notional ×10 stance as IISc and the IITs.
