Forward formula: % = CGPA × 10 (PG CSS 2020 — University teaching departments)Source: University of Kerala — Regulations for Post-Graduate Programmes under the Credit and Semester System (CSS), 2020 (from 2020 admission onwards), Clause 1.2: 'Percentage of Marks= Grade Points for SGPA or CGPA X 10'.Status: verifyLast verified: 2026-09-24
This reverses the official CGPA→% formula. A percentage on a transcript is the authoritative figure; the back-calculated CGPA is an estimate. Always confirm with your college.

Converting University of Kerala percentage back to CGPA

University of Kerala (Kerala) officially converts CGPA to percentage with % = CGPA × 10 (PG CSS 2020 — University teaching departments). This page inverts that formula so you can estimate the CGPA behind a known percentage. Enter your percentage above and the calculator solves for the CGPA on the 10-point scale.

Worked example

The official University of Kerala formula is % = CGPA × 10 (PG CSS 2020 — University teaching departments). Starting from a percentage of 80%, the formula reverses to a CGPA of about 8 on the 10-point scale. You can check this by running 8 through the forward University of Kerala CGPA to percentage calculator — it returns 80%, confirming the two directions agree.

Why this is an estimate, not an official figure

A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.

Source & verification

University of Kerala — Regulations for Post-Graduate Programmes under the Credit and Semester System (CSS), 2020 (from 2020 admission onwards), Clause 1.2: 'Percentage of Marks= Grade Points for SGPA or CGPA X 10'.

SCOPE-LIMITED: the ×10 sentence is explicit, but it is in the PG CSS 2020 regulations, which govern the University's own teaching departments (2020 admissions onward). Its grade table is banded (90–100 = 10, 85–<90 = 9, 80–<85 = 8.5, 70–<80 = 8, 60–<70 = 7, 55–<60 = 6, 50–<55 = 5), and PG CSS has no First Class/Distinction classification. DO NOT apply ×10 to the old UG CBCSS 2009/2010 scheme in affiliated colleges, which used a 4-point grade scale. The UG CBCSS 2013/2018/2021 and FYUGP regulations were not found on the site, so affiliated-college UG applicability is unconfirmed — status 'verify' until those are checked.
