STATUS HAS CHANGED SIGNIFICANTLY — READ BEFORE USING. Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT), Nagpur has been converted into a full state university — Laxminarayan Innovation Technological University (LITU) — by Government of Maharashtra in or around 2023. This is the same model as College of Engineering Pune (COEP) being carved out of SPPU into a standalone university. Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis announced the conversion in the state assembly in March 2023. WHICH ERA APPLIES TO YOUR DEGREE: (1) PRE-AUTONOMOUS, RTMNU ERA (students admitted before autonomous status, roughly up to 2021-22 or earlier): LIT was a government-aided institute affiliated to RTMNU, where RTMNU Direction No. 02 of 2021 gives CGPA × 10. However, LIT is noted as being a constituent college of RTMNU (not merely affiliated), which may mean different rules applied. (2) RTMNU AUTONOMOUS ERA: LIT appears in some sources as having received autonomous status within RTMNU before the university carve-out. (3) LITU UNIVERSITY ERA (students admitted from AY 2023-24 or whenever LITU was formally established): LIT / LITU awards its own degrees and sets its own examination regulations, which have not been retrieved. THE FORMULA IS NOT KNOWN FOR ANY ERA. Note the parallel with RCOEM, which was also an autonomous RTMNU college before becoming Ramdeobaba University — your live registry records that transition. LIT / LITU has a more extreme version of the same pattern. Founded in 1942 by Rao Bahadur D. Laxminarayan, LIT is one of India's oldest and most specialised chemical/technology institutes, offering Chemical Engineering, Surface Coating Technology, Oil Technology and related disciplines across a 78-acre campus on Amravati Road, Nagpur. NAAC A++ accredited, NIRF ranked in top government engineering colleges. TO RESOLVE: confirm which academic year LITU formally began awarding degrees, obtain LITU's examination regulations, and check whether the RTMNU formula applied during the pre-LITU era (the constituent-college status may differ from standard affiliation).
