Converting Madhav Institute of Technology & Science (MITS), Gwalior (Deemed to be University) percentage back to CGPA

Madhav Institute of Technology & Science (MITS), Gwalior (Deemed to be University) (Madhya Pradesh) officially converts CGPA to percentage with % = CGPA × 10 ('Percentage of Marks scored = CGPA obtained ∗ 10') — MITS-DU Ordinances (revised 10.07.2026). This page inverts that formula so you can estimate the CGPA behind a known percentage. Enter your percentage above and the calculator solves for the CGPA on the 10-point scale.

Worked example

The official Madhav Institute of Technology & Science (MITS), Gwalior (Deemed to be University) formula is % = CGPA × 10 ('Percentage of Marks scored = CGPA obtained ∗ 10') — MITS-DU Ordinances (revised 10.07.2026). Starting from a percentage of 78%, the formula reverses to a CGPA of about 7.8 on the 10-point scale. You can check this by running 7.8 through the forward Madhav Institute of Technology & Science (MITS), Gwalior (Deemed to be University) CGPA to percentage calculator — it returns 78%, confirming the two directions agree.

Why this is an estimate, not an official figure

A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.

Source & verification

MITS Gwalior — Ordinance for Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) 4 Years Under Graduate Degree Programme (for candidates admitted in First Year on and after July 2024), cl. 9.6.2 (p. 11): 'The conversion from grade to an equivalent percentage shall be according to the following formula applicable: Percentage of Marks scored = CGPA obtained ∗ 10'. Cl. 9.5: the final grade sheet 'shall also indicate CGPA, equivalent percentage marks and the division awarded'. Division (Table 6): 7.5 ≤ CGPA First Division with Distinction; 6.5 ≤ CGPA < 7.5 First Division; 5.0 ≤ CGPA < 6.5 Second Division. The same formula appears in the B.Arch. (cl. 9.6.2), M.E./M.Tech. (cl. 10.8.2) and MCA (cl. 10.8.2) ordinances.

EXPLICIT official rule (text PDFs, 'revised ordinance 2026' folder dated 10_07_26). NAME CLASH: not MITS Madanapalle (Andhra Pradesh), which is a separate entry — aliases 'MITS', 'MITS-DU' are left with that entry. CSP on the home page blocks in-page PDF reading; the ordinances were read from the PDF origin. MBA, MUP and Ph.D. ordinances in the same folder were not checked for this formula. Establishment year not read.
