Converting Andhra University College of Engineering (Autonomous) (AUCE), Visakhapatnam percentage back to CGPA

Andhra University College of Engineering (Autonomous) (AUCE), Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) officially converts CGPA to percentage with % = CGPA × 10. This page inverts that formula so you can estimate the CGPA behind a known percentage. Enter your percentage above and the calculator solves for the CGPA on the 10-point scale.

Worked example

The official Andhra University College of Engineering (Autonomous) (AUCE), Visakhapatnam formula is % = CGPA × 10. Starting from a percentage of 80%, the formula reverses to a CGPA of about 8 on the 10-point scale. You can check this by running 8 through the forward Andhra University College of Engineering (Autonomous) (AUCE), Visakhapatnam CGPA to percentage calculator — it returns 80%, confirming the two directions agree.

Why this is an estimate, not an official figure

A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.

Source & verification

Andhra University, Office of the Registrar (Academic) — Order 'Modified Grading System for 3 & 5 year LLB, LLM courses and PG Courses in Arts, Commerce and Management Studies, Science and Technology, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and M.Phil & Ph.D Programmes with effect from the admitted batch of 2014-2015', dated 04-03-2015, item 7: 'CGPA will be calculated from II semester onwards upto the final semester. CGPA multiplied by "10" gives aggregate percentage of marks obtained by a candidate.'

AUCE has no separately published conversion rule; it follows Andhra University's university-wide 2015 Modified Grading System order, which says CGPA × 10 = aggregate percentage (8.0 → 80%). So the 'andhra' entry's ×10 formula DOES cover AUCE — but on a different, broader source than the Law-regulation source the 'andhra' entry cites. FLAG for owner: the 'andhra' entry's note says 'no university-wide rule published for other programmes' and tells Engineering students to ask the CoE; this 2015 AU order (on AU's own domain) is a university-wide rule covering Engineering, Science, Pharmacy, Arts/Commerce PG, B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharm, Law, M.Phil/Ph.D, so the 'andhra' entry could be widened. Caveats: (1) the order dates from 2015 (2014-15 batch onwards); no later AU/AUCE regulation was found that replaces it, but AUCE's newer B.Tech schemes (2019-20, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2024-25, 2025-26 syllabi) could not all be checked for a regulations section in this session (AU site timed out); the 2026-09-25 AU sweep of 273 syllabus PDFs found no other conversion sentence. (2) The order rounds CGPA: 6.95–6.99 → 7.0, 5.95–5.99 → 6.0, 4.95–4.99 → 5.0 for class purposes. Class (UG Engineering/Pharmacy): Distinction CGPA ≥ 7.0; First Class 6.0–6.99; Second/Pass 5.0–5.99.
