Converting Kalyani Government Engineering College percentage back to CGPA
Kalyani Government Engineering College (West Bengal) officially converts CGPA to percentage with % = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. This page inverts that formula so you can estimate the CGPA behind a known percentage. Enter your percentage above and the calculator solves for the CGPA on the 10-point scale.
Worked example
The official Kalyani Government Engineering College formula is % = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. Starting from a percentage of 77.5%, the formula reverses to a CGPA of about 8.5 on the 10-point scale. You can check this by running 8.5 through the forward Kalyani Government Engineering College CGPA to percentage calculator — it returns 77.5%, confirming the two directions agree.
Why this is an estimate, not an official figure
A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.
Source & verification
MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal) official circular 'How to Calculate Percentage from Your Grade Point' — publishes the DGPA-to-percentage conversion table directly: GPA 6.25→55%, 6.75→60%, 7.25→65%, 7.75→70%, 8.25→75%, confirming % = (GPA − 0.75) × 10 across every row. University-wide formula, applies to all MAKAUT-affiliated colleges including KGEC.
KGEC's own site (kgec.edu.in/about) states 'we also thrive to become an autonomous institution very soon' — treated here as NOT currently autonomous (one third-party source claims autonomy since 2014, but the college's own language is more authoritative and contradicts it). As a standard MAKAUT affiliate, the university-wide circular applies with no institutional override expected.
