Converting Narasaraopeta Engineering College (Autonomous), Narasaraopet percentage back to CGPA
Narasaraopeta Engineering College (Autonomous), Narasaraopet (Andhra Pradesh) officially converts CGPA to percentage with % = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. Worked example
The official Narasaraopeta Engineering College (Autonomous), Narasaraopet formula is % = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. Starting from a percentage of 72.5%, the formula reverses to a CGPA of about 8 on the 10-point scale. You can check this by running 8 through the forward Narasaraopeta Engineering College (Autonomous), Narasaraopet CGPA to percentage calculator — it returns 72.5%, confirming the two directions agree.
Why this is an estimate, not an official figure
A college issues your percentage from your actual CGPA, not the other way around — so reversing the formula recovers the CGPA that would produce that percentage. When both numbers appear on your grade card, always quote the official CGPA rather than this estimate.
Source & verification
own — Narasaraopeta Engineering College (Autonomous), Academic Regulations R20 for B.Tech, §19 Grading, clause (vii): 'As per AICTE regulations, conversion of CGPA into equivalent percentage as follows: Equivalent Percentage = (CGPA – 0.75) x 10'
DIFFERENT FROM MOST AP AUTONOMOUS COLLEGES: NEC uses (CGPA − 0.75) × 10, not the (CGPA − 0.5) × 10 used by SRKR, AEC, AMR, DNRCET, GIETEC, KHIT and others. At CGPA 8.0 that is 72.5% here versus 75% elsewhere. Applies to: B.Tech (Regular, 160 credits) and B.Tech (Lateral Entry Scheme, 121 credits) admitted from AY 2020-21, under R20. Grade scale (10-point): A+ (Outstanding) = 10 (≥90), A (Excellent) = 9 (80-89), B (Very Good) = 8 (70-79), C (Good) = 7 (60-69), D (Fair) = 6 (50-59), E (Satisfactory) = 5 (40-49), F (Fail) = 0, AB (Absent), MP (Malpractice). Class is awarded on CGPA, not percentage, and NEC's bands are unusually low at the bottom: First Class with Distinction ≥ 7.75 (with NO subject failures), First Class ≥ 6.75 (with subject failures permitted), Second Class 5.75 to < 6.75, Pass Class 4.75 to < 5.75, FAIL below 4.75. Note the Pass Class floor of 4.75 — most AP autonomous colleges set it at 5.0, so a student with CGPA 4.8 passes here but would fail elsewhere. COHORT LIMIT: verified for R20 only. NEC also publishes R16 and R19 regulations, which have not been read. Check the regulation code on your grade card. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH the other two Narasaraopet colleges in this registry: A.M. Reddy Memorial College of Engineering and Technology (slug amrn, AMR-24, (CGPA − 0.5) × 10) and Eswar College of Engineering (slug eswar, Kesanupalli, unresolved). Three separate autonomous institutions in one town, and the two resolved ones use DIFFERENT constants.
