Grade scale

Formula
CGPA = sum(credit x grade point) / sum(credits). Percentage ~= CGPA x 9.5 (CBSE/most universities). To approximate a US 4.0 GPA, convert to percentage then map by band.
Worked example
CGPA 8.5 -> 8.5 x 9.5 = 80.75% -> First Class -> ~3.7 on the US 4.0 scale (A-).
