Grade scale (10-point absolute): S (Superior) = 10 (≥90), A (Excellent) = 9 (80-89), B (Very Good) = 8 (70-79), C (Good) = 7 (60-69), D (Average) = 6 (50-59), E (Pass) = 5 (40-49), F (Fail) = 0, Ab (Absent) = 0. Class is awarded on CGPA, not percentage: First Class with Distinction ≥ 7.5, First Class ≥ 6.5 < 7.5, Second Class ≥ 5.5 < 6.5, Pass Class ≥ 5.0 < 5.5. IMPORTANT ON DISTINCTION: the regulation states explicitly that students who have written supplementary examinations to fulfil the credit requirement will NOT be awarded First Class with Distinction — the highest class such a student can receive is First Class, regardless of final CGPA.
